Music

At Darley Churchtown we teach music using the Charanga learning resource. In addition, pupils in classes 2 and 3 also benefit from practical music tuition through the Derbyshire Music Education Hub's Wider Opportunities scheme. This is integrated with the Charanga scheme to ensure all aspects of the National Curriculum are covered during a child's time in school.

 

As a Church school, singing also forms a key part of our daily collective worship. We regularly visit St Helen's Church, visit local residential homes to sing for residents and take our older pupils to experience singing with other schools as part of the massed youth choir Young Voices.
