S175 safeguarding audit

All schools and colleges should have in place, arrangements that reflect the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  These arrangements are set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), chapter 2.

 

Schools and colleges in England must also have regard to Keeping Children Safe in Education when carrying out their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. 

 

Schools are required to carry out an annual review of their safeguarding practice and to demonstrate how the duties set out in the guidance have been discharged. We use the 'safeguarding children audit tool for Derby and Derbyshire schools' which has been developed to support establishments to effectively complete their annual safeguarding review.
