Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We carry out regular surveys to understand how children feel about coming to Darley Churchtown CE Primary School.
The findings from the latest survey, carried out last week, show all the children enjoy coming to school with 52% saying this was true "all the time", 24% "most of the time" and 24% "some of the time".
The survey also found that the vast majority of children (95%) feel safe in school at all times, think that other children are well behaved and feel that they are kept safe and listened to at break and lunchtimes.
Children were also asked whether they understood what constitutes bullying and whether they are taught how to stay safe online. 79% of children were able to define bullying correctly and 98% thought they were taught how to stay safe online.
Although we were pleased with the findings, we will be following up the survey by reinforcing messages around staying safe in school and promoting the understanding of bullying and how children should respond if they have concerns. Look out for further updates in the next few weeks.
Good morning,
Due to the heavy snow across the local and wider area, combined with the poor driving conditions, school will be closed today for all children.
As you can appreciate many staff travel into school and, despite best preparations, are snowed in, and unable to travel into school. This means that we are unfortunately unable to safely open our school site, unable to provide catering and unable to provide safe staffing levels.
Staff from school will be sharing some available learning via the school website by mid morning (10:30 a.m.) which children can access to help them practise key skills. We hope there’s also time to enjoy the unusual heavy snow.
